Born on October 14, 1992, in Saginaw, Michigan, Tyler was the beloved son of Shawn Parrish and Tonya Haldane. He grew up in the Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port area and graduated from Cass City High School in 2012. From a young age, Tyler demonstrated a remarkable work ethic and a zest for learning that would shape his life and career. Known for his dependability and kind-hearted nature, he pursued a career in plumbing, working for Chad’s Heating & Plumbing and Jake’s Plumbing, where he was deeply respected by colleagues and customers alike.

Tyler’s faith played a significant role in his life. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville, he was baptized and confirmed there, and his connection to the church community was a cornerstone of his character. He lived his faith through his actions, embodying kindness, generosity, and understanding in all that he did. Whether contributing his time to church activities or offering a helping hand to a neighbor, Tyler’s unwavering dedication to his values was evident to all who knew him.

At the heart of Tyler’s life was his family, whom he cherished above all else. He shared a deep and loving bond with his fiancé, Shelby Cilc, and together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and dreams for the future. Tyler’s greatest joy was his son, Jax, who was his pride and light. The bond between father and son was unbreakable, marked by adventures, shared hobbies, and endless affection. Whether spending time in the garage, hunting, or simply enjoying quiet moments together, Tyler’s love for Jax shone brightly in everything he did.

Tyler’s family extended beyond his immediate household. He shared a close and loving relationship with his parents, Shawn and Vickie Parrish, and Tonya Haldane, who were his steadfast support throughout his life. He was a caring and devoted brother to Shelby (Jamie) Carlisle and Payton Parrish and a proud uncle to Onalee, Miles, and Archie. Tyler also treasured his relationships with his grandparents—Robert and Sharon Haldane, Garry McKellar, and Don and Peggy Parrish—who were a source of wisdom and inspiration in his life.

Tyler’s wide circle of friends admired him for his loyalty, humor, and infectious spirit. He had a unique ability to bring joy to every gathering, his laughter lighting up any room he entered. Whether on hunting trips, sharing stories around a fire, or simply spending time together, Tyler’s friendships were filled with warmth, trust, and shared memories that will be cherished forever.

An outdoorsman at heart, Tyler found peace and happiness in nature. Hunting, fishing, and walking by the river brought him solace and allowed him to connect with the world around him. These simple joys were moments of reflection and gratitude, shared with those he loved most.

Tyler was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Emma, his grandmother, Janice McKellar, and his close friend, Brody Truemner, whose loss he carried deeply. Though he is no longer with us, Tyler’s spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville, officiated by Rev. Chris Suggitt. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Champagne Funeral Chapel, with an additional visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family’s wishes, c/o Shelby Cilc, for their son, Jax.

Tyler Drew Parrish will be remembered for his love, laughter, and devotion to those around him.
